Atlanta is a car centric city in which most residents never even consider traveling by foot or bike. This leads to heavy traffic, obesity, a higher rate of car accidents and a less coherent urban fabric. Is there a relatively cheap solution that could start to change this behavior? I designed a platform for user generated, GPS based games. Using a simple set of tools, users can create tours, treasure hunts and puzzles for others to play. Seekly uses GPS to determine when players have successfully reached checkpoints. The app uses a rating system similar to Yelp to help players find games that are right for them, and new content is always being added, so there’s always somewhere new to explore in the city.
URBANISM POSTERS, OR, HOW CARS ARE A DETRIMENT TO SOCIETY
The final project of my undergraduate experience involved community resilience. I generated a series of informative posters centered around urbanism in Atlanta to accompany an app design for a week long gallery show.
